South Kelsey, the home of Kelsey Hampshire Downs, lies 22 miles north of Lincoln.

We aim to produce:-

1. rams which will thrive on a commercial farm. To achieve this we rear our sheep on grass not cereals and select for good feet and clean backends.

2. rams which we expect to cover 100 plus ewes. To achieve this we select for good testicle size and libido.

3. rams whose lambs will grow away quickly and finish off milk and grass. To achieve this we have recorded performance with Signet since 1998 and selected for growth, muscle and leanness. The average Kelsey ram born in 2009 was 4.71 kgs heavier with a loin having 2.14 mm more muscle and 0.21 mm less fat than his counterpart in 1998.
